Sack catalogue description: Classical mahogany lyre-base card table, the frame has canted corners and is centered by a drapery-carved panel, the frame is supported by twin lyres; the acanthus carving is on the side edges of the lyres as well as the front, the carving extends on the graceful outsplayed legs. Attributed to Michael Allison, based on the related drapery panel on a Sheraton card table by Allison, illustrated in The Magazine Antiques (September 1946): p. 179.
