Sack catalogue description: Queen Anne walnut armchair, cabriole legs ending in drake feet, beautifully modeled serpentine arms with scooped arm rests and scrolled knuckle arm terminals; vase-shaped splat, serpentine crest rail, mellow light brown patina. While Philadelphia side chairs of this transitional form are numerous, few armchairs ever appear on the market.
