Sack catalogue description: Sheraton mahogany sofa with incurvate reeded arms and reeded seat frame, the three-paneled carved back features a center panel of ribbon and sheaf of wheat, the end panels feature ribbon and wheat stalks; reeded legs ending in bulboubs feet. This sofa is branded by the maker Michael Allison, the maker's mark reading: "M. Allison / Cabinet Maker / 42 & 44 [...] Street / Near Bear Market. / New York."
