Sack catalogue description: Queen Anne walnut slipper side chair with rounded stiles and crest rails, finely modeled shell in deep relief centering crest, vase-shaped splat; superb mellow patina, probably made by John Goddard. This chair is a companion to the pair of chairs; it is, in our opinion, the most important Newport slipper side chair to have appeared on the market in recent years.
