Sack catalogue description: Classical mahogany tripod tilt-top candlestand, octagonal top with richly figured veneer and crossbanded border, the column with reeded cylinder and tapering shaft; molded legs ending in castered carved paw feet, fine bronze patina. Attributed to Duncan Phyfe; the reeded cylinder element appears on a number of documented tables by Phyfe. Related objects: Book: Nancy A.
