Inscribed "John J. Stowell, Charlestown." Updated catalogue description (June 1984) – Gilt banjo clock with the original églomisé glass painting, the bottom tablet depicting an allegorical scene in pastoral colors, the tablets framed in spiral gilt borders with gilt base bracket and original brass finials; signed "John J. Stowell, Charlestown, Massachusetts."
