Fragmentary holograph full-score manuscript, in black ink on 32 pages of 18-staff paper..., foliated 1 to 16. Only the first 27 measures are fully orchestrated. The string section is complete through folio 4v, with some wind parts. Afterward, the first violin is the only section present, save for the trombones on folio 8v and 9r. At the top of folio 1r, in pencil, not in Offenbach's hand: "vers 1840-45 Suite de danses incomplete." The opening section is not titled; at the beginning of folio 3r: "Tempo 1°"; at the beginning of folio 5r: "1 Valse."
Scored for piccolo and flute, oboe, clarinet in A, horns in D and G, bassoons, cornet à piston, ophicleides, trumpet in D, trombone, timpani, drum, triangle, bass drum, cymbals, and strings.
