Includes a sample of snuff from Horace Walpole's tobacconist (Fribourg & Treyer). "The Valuable Contents of Strawberry Hill," sold on behalf of George, 7th Earl of Waldegrave by Mr. George Robins, 20 Aoril 1842 (16th day of sale ), lot 63, described as "A curious red colour papier mache French snuff box, mounted with gold." Sold to Zimmerman for £2.12.6. The Waller Sale, sold Christie's, Manson & Woods, Ltd., 8 December 1947, lot 98, described as"...[3 snuff boxes]; and a circular papier mache snuff-box- ex dono Lady Waller, Dec. 1948.
