Sack catalogue description: Chippendale mahogany tripod table, serpentine top with squared corners, urn column with acanthus carving in star punch or snowflake background; stop-fluted shaft, the knees with ribbon, grape and grape leaves in star punch or snowflake background. Carving attributed to Samuel McIntire; comparison of the ribbon and grapes carving with examples documented or attributed to the hand of Samuel McIntire attests to the validity of this attribution: 1) Samuel McIntire: A Bicentennial Symposium, 1757–1957, figs. 27, 29; 2) Hipkiss, Eighteenth-Century American Arts: The M. and M.
