Notes:
Sack catalogue description: Mahogany and gilt banjo clock with rare striking mechanism, carved and gilded spiral borders and base bracket, original églomisé glass panels; the door panel depicting an allegoric scene of Aurora riding a chariot drawn by winged horses, the waist panel depicting a symbolic figure of Liberty and inscribed, "PATENT." Dial inscribed, "A. Willard, Jr. Boston"; the eagle ornament is a replacement, the model derived from a virtually identical clock formerly in our possession.
