Églomisé glass; gilding
Sack catalogue description: Gilt banjo clock with original églomisé glass panels, the door panel (with vertical crack) depicting a rare view inscribed "Pennsylvania Capitol," the waist panel depicting an eagle and shield and the word "PATENT." Since we know of only one other example by Aaron Willard showing this view, it is our opinion the damage to the glass is allowable and inoffensive. ----- Bibliography: Book: American Antiques from Israel Sack Collection, 10 vols.
