Sack catalogue description: Hepplewhite mahogany tall clock of rare small size, the door and base are inlaid with fan quadrants, enameled moon dial inscribed "S. Willard"; made by Simon Willard, the clock retains the original label engraved by I. Thomas of Worcester inside the door, reading "Printed by I. Thomas, JUN. – Worcester." Also accompanying the clock is a bill from Simon Willard and Son dated February 1, 1858, for repairing and cleaning. This clock was made for William Lord, ship captain of Kennebunkport, Maine; William Lord built the mansion shown in the daguerreotype which accompanies this clock.
