Sack catalogue description: Rare Hepplewhite mahogany inlaid small sideboard with wavy gallery, the case has a central cupboard deep drawer flanked by end compartments with drop fronts hinged by brass quadrants, the oval sunbursts with checkered inlaid borders are in mitered backgrounds; the inlaid sunbursts are repeated on the sides, tapered line-inlaid legs ending in spade feet, the stiles with a chain-inlaid design; the rarity of the design is enhanced by a magnificent mellow brown patina of greath depth. Attributed to Stephen Badlam; the attribution to Badlam is based on the relationship to a branded Badlam oval tray with related wavy gallery and inlaid sunburst in checkered inlaid border, stamped "S. BADLAM," sold at the Benjamin Flayderman Sales, 1931, no. 82. ----- Bibliography: Book: American Antiques from Israel Sack Collection, 10 vols.
