Wheeling bags of salt from Haichow. "Feb 23 1910" "Dear Aunt [obscure] - Mama has been awfully busy the last four days so she did not write a long letter. I have had a chicken to pet and I thought she was fine. I carried her around & fed her. But she is being made into soup today. Your loving niece, Ruth P[obscure]" Lorenzo and Ruth Bennett Morgan were American medical missionaries in the Jiangsu and Anhui provinces of China, serving under the Presbyterian and Methodist mission boards from 1905 to 1946.
